The Sound Of Applause

It’s quite deceptive, the sound of applause.
I've always noticed how it reminds me of rain.

But then, again, rain signifies the opposite.
But then, again, rain sounds like applause.

A thousand hands beating, pulsating, and a rhythm in appreciation.

It’s the sound of silence.
When words aren't voiced.
Being alone with someone.
Or being alone.

The sound of rain is the only thing that echoes through the air.
It’s a shifting, phasing sound that envelopes you.
Nature’s etude.

For you.

But you're still alone.
Or alone with someone.
In the spotlight.

  21. What a beautiful metaphor - next time it's pouring I'll close my eyes and imagine applause. Perhaps the thunderclaps will be standing ovations. Loved it.
